Traditional reinforced concrete pool

At RC Piscine, every pool is built in traditional reinforced concrete, a method proven for its strength and longevity. The steel reinforcement is sized according to the dimensions of the pool and the nature of the ground.

A specific concrete, formulated with a mix suited to the technical requirements of pools and underground tanks, is carefully placed to ensure the strength, durability and stability of the structure.

To guarantee optimal watertightness, a waterproof tanking made of 5 successive layers, applied by hand, protects the pool against water seepage. After the tanking, a finishing render reinforced with a mortar additive is applied to obtain an even, strong surface suited to laying the finish of your choice.

Whether you dream of a designer pool with straight lines or a unique free form, we turn your wishes into reality. Our solutions adapt to your needs and your budget, for a made-to-measure project that reflects your style.

Reinforced concrete pool with a waterfall and a travertine wall, built by RC Piscine in Tunisia

The advantages of traditional reinforced concrete

Solid, long-lasting structure

Carefully proportioned and reinforced concrete, built to withstand water and earth pressure over time.

Fully customisable

A wide range of sizes and shapes: linear, free-form, landscaped.

Choice of finishes

Mosaic, Bali stone, render, tiles or polished concrete.

Any type of ground

Suitable for all ground, including seismic zones.

The construction steps

  1. 1

    Excavation

Setting out and excavation: the location, defined with you, takes into account the dimensions of the pool and the constraints of the site. The ground is dug to the slopes and levels required to provide a stable, durable base.

  2. 2

    Preparing the sub-base

The sub-base is prepared and levelled to receive the concrete slab. This step ensures an even, stable foundation on which the whole pool rests.

  3. 3

    Steel reinforcement

Dense, high-quality steel reinforcement, made up of two layers of rebar mesh for the slab and the walls, is positioned precisely to ensure excellent mechanical strength and optimal solidity of the entire structure.

  4. 4

    PN16 pressure PVC piping

Supply and installation of a PN16 pressure PVC hydraulic network, specially suited to pools. Pipes and fittings are solvent-welded for excellent watertightness and optimal water circulation between the pool and the technical room.

  5. 5

    Fixing the embedded fittings

The embedded fittings, essential for water circulation, are installed before the concrete is poured, as are the lighting floodlights.

  6. 6

    Pouring the concrete

A specific concrete mix is poured to form the reinforced concrete slab and walls, with particular attention to strength and compactness.

  7. 7

    5-layer waterproof tanking

Five successive layers, applied by hand over all the walls and the slab. This process provides reinforced protection against seepage and lasting watertightness, suited to in-ground pools.

  8. 8

    Finishing render

After the tanking, a finishing render reinforced with a mortar additive gives an even, strong surface suited to laying the finish of your choice.

  9. 9

    Coping and finish installation

Stone or marble coping with a non-slip finish, providing an attractive, safe and durable edge around the pool. The finish is chosen according to your taste and the technical requirements of the pool (tiles, mosaic or natural stone) for a smooth, pleasant surface that is easy to maintain.

  10. 10

    Starting up the pool

Installation of the filtration equipment (pump and filter), then the water is set in circulation. Your pool is ready to welcome you, with clean, clear water.

Prefabricated shell pool

The prefabricated shell pool is a modern, practical solution that offers quick installation and a neat finish. Made in a factory from composite materials reinforced with fibreglass and resin, it has a one-piece structure designed to provide strength, lightness and durability.

Its smooth, non-porous interior surface makes maintenance easier and limits the build-up of impurities and algae.

Available in different shapes, sizes and colours, the shell pool adapts to different outdoor spaces and lets you enjoy an attractive pool with a shorter build time than traditional reinforced concrete construction.

Prefabricated shell pool with a light coping, installed by RC Piscine in Tunisia

The advantages of the prefabricated shell pool

Quick installation

About 10 days of work for the installation, depending on site conditions.

Economical budget

Cost generally lower than that of a traditional reinforced concrete pool.

One-piece structure

Factory manufacture ensuring a uniform, strong structure.

Smooth, non-porous surface

Limits the build-up of algae and impurities.

Easier maintenance

Simple cleaning and reduced routine upkeep.

Good durability

Composite materials reinforced with fibreglass and resin.

Modern look

Different shapes, sizes and finishes available.

Comfortable to use

Soft, pleasant interior surface.

The installation steps

  1. 1

    Excavation

Excavation of the ground to the dimensions and depth of the shell.

  2. 2

    Preparing the base

A levelled, compacted gravel bed is laid to ensure a stable foundation.

  3. 3

    Delivery and positioning

The shell is transported and installed using suitable lifting equipment.

  4. 4

    Levelling

Precise adjustment of the shell to ensure its alignment and levelness.

  5. 5

    Plumbing connection

Installation of the PN16 pressure PVC pipes and connection of the equipment.

  6. 6

    Backfilling

Gradual filling of the space around the shell with a suitable material, while the pool is filled with water.

  7. 7

    Setting up the technical room

Installation of the filtration, the pump and the water treatment equipment.

  8. 8

    Coping and finishing touches

Laying the coping, landscaping the surroundings and finishing around the pool.

  9. 9

    Commissioning

Checking the connections, hydraulic tests and starting the filtration system.
